I began this daily painting as a way to get a better feel for the oils and must need an audience. :) Along the way I have fallen in love with the oils. I started to do the wolf painting I mentioned in today's blog in acrylics and I had to change over to oils! Before that I thought I would just pick and choose which medium I wanted based on drying time. So my guess is now I won't do acrylics unless I am forced to by circumstances (like a mural for example or mixed media). I don't know where things will go from here kathi. I am trying to specialize or narrow my focus a little but its so hard to do that! I know you paint with watercolors too. I loved working with watercolors but haven't done any watercolors since the spring I bet....I found I could do some of the stuff I really liked with watercolors with the oils by painting very thin, in layers and with a delicate hand or paint thick with bold brushstrokes if I wanted.... I'm no help I'm afraid. LOL! <BR/>PS I need to call you because I want to order a print from you! I'll call you tomorrow. I love your paintings!! I am honored you stop by to visit me. :)Free Rein Art Studiohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17052191803002095884noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3797234794751705103.post-45153950992091734552008-11-23T20:43:00.000-05:002008-11-23T20:43:00.000-05:00I really like following the evolution of a work in...I really like following the evolution of a work in progress, there are always interesting surprises along the way, and just when you think it cant get better, it does! Im interested to know how you make the decision to choose oils or acrylic when beginning a piece.Lovethiscottage.blogspot.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03022398491333206062noreply@blogger.com
