Critter and More Critters Art Show


I just joined the Ohio Arts and Craft Guild in Canton and was very graciously asked to be a part of this art show. Canton has a very active, thirving art community of which it is exciting to be a part of! Please stop by if you get a chance! Here's the information:

“Critters and More Critters!” to be Showcased
at The Ohio Arts & Crafts Guild and Gallery

May 29, 2008 (Canton, Ohio) – “Critters and More Critters!” will debut at The Ohio
Arts & Crafts Guild and Gallery (OACG) on First Friday, June 6, in downtown Canton. Featuring a menagerie of animal artwork and crafts, the public can get its first glimpse of the family-friendly exhibit during an opening reception set for 6 – 10 p.m. at the OACG, located in Studio 5 on 4th, at 338 4th St., N.W.

Pieces for “Critters and More Critters!” were created by OACG members Mary Dowd, Kelly Swan, Mike Boatright, Phyllis Mahaney and Vicki Boatright. The artists will be
on-hand to mingle with visitors and discuss their work.

In addition, the ArtsinStark Critters Parade will stop by the Guild in homage to all the Downtown Critters. Admission is free, and light refreshments will be served.

Established in 1963, the Ohio Arts & Crafts Guild is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that represents practicing artists and crafts people at all levels of achievement. Membership numbers nearly 500 statewide, and includes professionals, amateurs, students and arts enthusiasts, representing people of all ages and walks of life who appreciate and support the arts and crafts. In addition, the Guild promotes the future of arts and crafts by awarding annual scholarships to Ohio high school and college art students.

The Guild is open Thursdays & Fridays, 1 – 6 p.m.; First Fridays, 1 – 10 p.m.; and Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. – noon (During The Farmer’s Market, June 14 through October 18) .

Your work is so wonderful! I love the picture of Zeus the dog. He has big brown eyes like my dog Shadow Dante. Just about the same size, too--although Shadow is a chihuahua.
