Dog Portraits
I thought I would share with you a 'work in progress' watercolor of a dog portrait. I love the sweet expression of this yellow lab. This will be a watercolor/graphite painting. I am using the graphite to give some texture and detail to the fur. I am working on darks right now-- getting the contour of his face and soon, the fabric he is laying on. I like using a dusty purple for the shadows. It is a granulating watercolor so you get all this interesting texture. I will be finding places to put in nice crisp lines and in other spots 'lost edges' to keep the image interesting.
