Nature's Palette

Nature's Palette, Winter Edition

What is an artist who loves color to do on a dark, gray day in NE Ohio in February?  Take her camera out and find beauty in the gray places.

I started out trudging thru the muck and dirty snow to check on my horses in the pasture, fill their water tank and check on their round bale.  I have begun taking my camera with me on my walks to the barn.  I usually take photos of the dogs and horses   in the snow.   and more snow.   But today was gray and brown and cloudy.

I decided to look at it as a challenge and see what I could find.  Plus, my dogs needed to run... so I began my wandering.

What I learned...

  • Wandering is good for a person.
  • Tree stumps, wood grain and moss are very interesting to photograph.
  • There is beauty is grey places.  Maybe you agree....

It is all very ordinary as you can see.  Put a frame around it, and really see it and it is really quite remarkable!  God's beautiful creation is worth seeing.  Get out, explore and tell me what you find even in gray places!

Do you know anyone who loves animals?  Loves art?  Might want a pet portrait or horse oil paintings?  Horse and Pet themed art and gifts (by me) can be found in my Etsy Shop.
