Whirlwind WIP II
This is really a fun piece for me to paint! My goal at this point is to refine the horse's head and expression with lots of fire and spirit but keep the rest very loose with lots of bold brush strokes and thick paint. The figure will be shadowy and fading into the background. I like her like that because she is part of the horse, refining him but than again barely more than an illusion. Isn't that what we want when we're riding? :) There but not there. This is 30 x 40 if I hadn't mentioned that before so its fairly large, painted with acrylics on board. It will be framed or boxed in -- haven't decided yet. When its boxed in it is similar to a 'gallery wrap' canvas where the edges are painted and become the frame.
